Health and Safety Audit

Effective auiditing ensures adherence to all relevant health and safety legislation and offers best practice health and safety guidance.

Improvements to business processes promote safe working and reduce accidents, down time and work related injuries creating a better working environment.

We undertake thorough audits of safety management systems, using a preliminary questionnaire to ask all staff about safety within the organisation.

We will then review you documentation, to assess if it covers current legislation.

We would then visit site and interview staff about the safety skills required within their roles.

Following this we then check that the documented procedures are carried out within the business, risk assessments are understood and safety responsibilities are clear.

All the information is then documented in a safety management report with an action list and priority breakdown.

The whole report shows scores for each area audited which can be used for reference to measure improvements in subsequent audits.

Health and Safety Risk Assessments

Providing risk assessments for all business activities is a legal requirement, but rather than being an administrative burden, effective risk assessments can identify and promote where there is good practice and where risks are controlled whilst illustrating where hazards have been overlooked.

Ideally we encourage staff to share responsibility for their working environment and business processes and be proactive in identifying areas of risk, recommending practical solutions.

We can provide a service to produce risk assessments for you or train your staff to undertake assessments and review their assessments.

The common matrix severity x likelihood system is used with the hazards identified and risks scored before and after controls are put in place.

Specific and generic assessments can be produced.

Generic assessments cover all possible business hazards.

Complex assessments in the use of chemicals and explosive atmospheres can be provided.
